En tauromaquia, la alternativa es la ceremonia mediante la cual el novillero o el torero primerizo adquiere la categoría de matador de toros. La expresión hace referencia al momento en el que el principiante es autorizado a alternar por primera vez en un festejo con otros mataderos. La expresión La alternativa quiere dar entrada a los artistas más jóvenes, nacidos desde los años 70, que formen parte de las colecciones de los socios del Club Matador. Se trata de dar la oportunidad a valores emergentes en la que están presentes todos los medios: pintura, fotografía, escultura, vídeo-arte, nuevos soportes...

In bullfighting, 'la alternativa' is the ceremony by means of which the apprentice or novice acquires the status of bullfighter. The expression refers to the moment in which the beginner is allowed to mix for the first time with other bullfighters. The expression 'La alternativa' intends to introduce young artists born in the 70s who are included in the collections of the partners of the Club Matador. It is about giving a chance to emerging talents in which all media are present: painting, photography, sculpture, video art, new media...
